Steel City Press is committed to safeguarding your personal information. We therefore limit the extent of the information about you which we collect, and process your information only for the reasons specified below.
We may collect data from:
- Purchase orders placed through Steel City Press
- Competitions, giveaways or promotions which we run from time to time
We do not currently, but reserve the right to collect data in the future, from additional sources such as:
- Signing up to regular newsletters
- Book reviews submitted to our site
- Other websites which we may in the future operate as subsidiaries of Steel City Press
We may receive data from you which we have not solicited, for example:
- If you contact us by telephone, mail, email, etc. (In this case we will not use your data for any marketing purposes)
TRANSFER OF DATA TO THIRD-PARTY COMPANIES (INC. AUTOMATIC COLLECTION)
Data is transferred to third-party companies only when necessary, for example:
- Our website uses analytics software to ensure the smooth functioning of the site. Such automated data collection does not tell us who you are but may provide us with:

Where we use a delivery/distribution partner, they may require a telephone number in order to resolve any issues with delivery.
We use Royal Mail for all postage of book orders
We do not actively send or sell any of your data to third-party companies for marketing purposes.
OTHER SHARING OF DATA
We reserve the right to share your personal data in certain exceptional circumstances:
- If we receive a written request to do so from the police or other law enforcement agencies
- If required to do so by a court of law
- For public protection (in the unlikely event that not sharing such data would likely result in serious harm such as injury or death)
Note: In the event of any merger/acquisition/change of name/insolvency, it is likely that information may form part of the assets transferred to a receiver or acquiring company. In such circumstances, your data would continue to be governed by this privacy policy.
NO MARKETING BY POST OR TELEPHONE
Except for the purpose of processing orders, we do not make contact with you by post or by telephone. (The previous sentence does not apply to anyone we work with closely on a day-to-day bases such as authors, illustrators, etc.)
RIGHT TO BE FORGOTTEN
In all cases, we will delete your personal data upon request.
We do not currently send marketing emails, or undertake market research, but reserve the right to do so in the future. Any such emails which we may from time to time send will contain a link providing an opportunity to unsubscribe. Please note that preference changes may take a reasonable amount of time (up to 48 hours) to take effect and that any emails already scheduled to be sent may be unaffected.
